The Battle of the Mind

Monday, September 18

You may feel a certain way about a situation or moment, but that doesn’t mean the feeling is right.
Any number of thoughts will enter your mind today, but that doesn’t mean they are all useful or true.

Our brains are wired for comfort. They want safe. They want familiar. Getting better, though, is not comfortable. It is not risky. It is outside our norm. Which means that our brains are wired to push back against growth. The good news is you can change your brain.

In pursuing progress, the thoughts and feelings of fear, insecurity, doubt, and self-criticism are often the loudest. In these moments, we have to choose to speak truth, confidence, purpose, and belief over ourselves.

You have to speak confidence louder than you hear fear.
You have to speak belief louder than you hear doubt.
You have to speak truth louder than you hear lies.
You have to speak purpose louder than you hear comfort.

If you want to get better, start with the way you talk to yourself.
