Because of you

Most people live like life is happening to them.

The weather. The boss. The economy. The refs.
They react to circumstances they can’t control and wonder why they feel powerless.

But the people who move forward who grow, build, and lead - flip the story. They use the mantra that I heard from a member of a team I was recently with.

She said:
This isn’t happening to me.
This will happen because of me.

Because of my attitude.
Because of my discipline.
Because of my choices.

That’s ownership. That’s leadership. That’s growth.

When you take responsibility for what you can control, you shift from victim to victor. From reactive to proactive. From waiting for change to creating it.

You can’t always choose what happens.
But you can always choose how you respond.

And your response will determine the story.
