Beginner's Mindset

Wednesday, February 25

We just watched the world’s most elite athletes compete against each other on the biggest stage.

The best of the best. The cream of the crop. The world’s greatest. And we marvel at their ability, their performance, their resilience.

And yet, one day they were all beginners. They stepped onto the ice, put on some skis, climbed onto the track, for the first time. They didn’t know what they were doing. They weren’t elite, they were stumbling and slipping and falling and making fools of themselves.

And they got up and tried again. And again. And again. They went from beginners to experts. From awkward to advanced. The result was the masterful performances we all got to watch. But that mastery started out as anything but.

This is the journey. Whether it’s ice skating or leadership, skiing or communication, curling or mindset.

In order to become great, we must be willing to be a beginner.
