A better story

Friday, February 16

What do you want to be known for? Not that you’re here for the approval of others - because we know that is an exhausting and unfulfilling way to live - but how do you want people to describe you? What values and characteristics would you want them to apply to you?

My guess is that those are questions you’ve considered before. They can be fun to think about. These may not be:

Do people describe you that way? If I followed you around for a day, week, or month, would I use those values and characteristics to define you?

The values we want to be known for don’t matter if we don’t embody the mindset, actions and behaviors that display those values daily. If you’re not living up to them, where is that happening? Why? What can and should you do differently?

We can’t get mad at the story others tell about us if it’s the only story we give them to tell. Live a better standard.
