Championship Resilience

Tuesday, February 10

Sam Darnold had 3 bad years with the Jets.
He was shipped around the league.
Written off as damaged goods, a bust, and a career backup.
Passed over for younger, unproven players.

And now he is a champion.

And while champion is nice - it’s a title that can’t be taken away from him - it’s not the most important thing. It’s an outcome he can’t control. Even if the Seahawks had lost the Super Bowl on Monday, his story is still true and powerful.

Because he had every chance to believe the headlines. To believe the whispers. To believe his performance was his potential. To be negative. To complain about his circumstances. To say that things weren’t fair.

And yet he didn’t. He stayed positive. He kept believing in himself. He kept working. He kept learning. He kept leading. He kept doing the work. He saw adversity as opportunity. He believe those were just chapters in his story, not the end of the book.

The good news is you can do the same. In the midst of your adversity, setbacks, failures. When you get passed by, overlooked, dismissed.

You can keep believing. Keep showing up. Keep doing the work. Because it’s not about the titles or accomplishments you achieve along the way. It’s about being the kind of person who keeps showing up.
