Chase boring

Thursday, January 2

To help you/your team launch into 2025 with intention, I’m offering half off my virtual team sessions in December and January. These will be 1 hour sessions with your team, covering your pick of topic: leadership, mindset, communication, overcoming adversity, the process of greatness. More than twenty teams across a variety of industries have already claimed spots. If you’re interested, just shoot me an email here.

Quickly, the motivation and excitement of a new year wears off. Maybe today, maybe next week, maybe the end of the month. But the goals you were excited about will become less exciting. The motivation you felt will be significantly less. They will be replaced by questions of why you started in the first place, by doubts, by excuses.

Getting up early was fun for a day or two, but after a week? With no visible progress? What’s the point? Trying to be a better leader seemed worth it, but your culture hasn’t changed in 48 hours? It’ll probably never change, according to the resistance in your mind.

This is where you wrestle with the fear. Where you battle the doubts with your why. This is where you remember that you are a person who lives your commitments.

Goals are shiny, commitment is boring. Yet it is the committed, not the motivated, who hit their goals. Chase commitment.
