Competing paths

Wednesday, July 22
Pursuing your potential is difficult because it requires two things most people avoid: higher standards and higher personal accountability.
While those around you are actively doing the opposite.
They are okay with average. Average expectations. Average accountability. Average standards. And being in that environment will make you question why you’re trying so hard.
Which is why you need to find a community of people who are committed to getting better. It doesn’t mean quitting your job or friends or moving (though it might). It might mean creating or joining a new community alongside those.
Because the goal isn’t to fit in. It isn’t to lower your standards to make life easier for you and those around you. The goal is to keep your eyes on your path.
Let them live their standard. You stay focused on your standard.
