Difficult or bad

Monday, July 21

Most people think that if something is hard, something must be wrong.

That difficulty is a signal to stop, back off, or quit.

But what if “hard” isn’t bad?

What if “hard” is the point?

Think about it:
The most meaningful progress in life - physically, mentally, relationally, spiritually - always comes on the other side of difficulty.

In fact, the Marines have this belief that when your mind tells you that you are ready to quit, you have only tapped into 40% of your capacity. 40%! This is because our minds crave comfort and the moment something is uncomfortable, our minds tell us to quit. And when we do, we are leaving potential on the table.

It’s not the easy seasons that refine you.
It’s the hard ones.

Pressure.
Resistance.
Setbacks.
Discomfort.

These aren’t punishments. They are preparation. They are shaping you, strengthening you, sharpening you.

Not just to get through this season, but to come out of it better, stronger, and more capable for the next.

So when things get hard, don’t retreat.

Lean in. That’s where the growth is.
