Which direction?
Tuesday, August 6
A note for coaches and ADs: we’re having a record month (July and just a few days into August) of people signing up for the Culture Playbook. High School programs, NAIA/D2/D3 programs, major D1 programs and even pro teams are now using this system. Back to school and back to practice are the perfect time to set the standards and expectations of your culture for the year. Get it by August 15th and you get 18 Team Talks on mindset, leadership and performance. Buy it here.
Which direction are you pulling people toward?
This is the real measuring stick of your leadership and your influence.
Are you pulling people toward average, safe, comfortable, easy? Or are you pulling them toward challenges, possibility, unlocked potential?
It can be easy to want to make things easier on people. But the best leaders in the world, and the best teammates in the world, pull us toward a better version of ourselves. They don’t let us settle. They don’t let us take the comfortable path. They don’t let us be average.
The best pull us toward who we were meant to become. Even when it isn’t easy or comfortable or fun or certain. Because they know the path is worth it.
The key, though, is in how you live. You can’t pull people toward a direction you aren’t going. So if you want those around you to get on the path of potential, make sure you are there first.
Lead the way with purpose.
