Don't apologize

Thursday, February 27
Don’t apologize for your passion.
So many of our creative examples the last two decades have been the “I don’t care, I’m too cool to try” vibe and hearing the opposite from the biggest young actor in the world is inspiring.

I love this speech from Timothée Chalalmet at the SAG Awards over the weekend. We live in a world where too many want to shy away from their passion, their effort, their commitment, their accomplishment. We often feel the need to apologize for running after our purpose, for pursuing greatness. We play small to make others feel comfortable and to avoid any criticism.
Yet you were made to pursue greatness. You were made to unlock your best. You were care about the way you show up. And when that leads to certain accomplishments, don’t act surprised. Be humble, but be proud of what you did to get there. Be honest about what you are chasing.
Stop playing small. Be proud of what you’re passionate about. Be proud of the work and effort you put in. Be proud of running after your best. Set an example for others to follow. Your pursuing greatness may inspire and awaken others to do the same.
Run your race with purpose and passion. No apologies.
