Go for it

Tuesday, July 14
If it’s worth it, go for it.
“But the odds aren’t good.”
Okay, great. So since there is a layer of uncertainty, it’s not worth it? If that’s the criteria, then why try anything? There is always a larger than you think percentage chance that you don’t get the job, don’t get the promotion, that you get rejected, that you fail. In business, in relationships, in personal pursuits.
And yet in many areas of life, we still go for it. Why? Because it matters.
So if the goal you are chasing matters, then chase it. You don’t need to justify it. You don’t need a guarantee of certainty. Because even if it doesn’t work out, you won’t regret that you went for it (and you’ll learn/grow in the process). But if you don’t go for it, you will always wonder.
And “what if?” is a heavier load to carry than falling short of a goal.
