Keep Chopping Wood. Thursday, August 31

Thursday, August 31

It’s easy to want to blend in. To fall in line with those around you. To want to fit in with the crowd. To conform to the status quo. It’s comfortable and safe. It allows you to hide. If we’re honest, it is where most people are trying to be.

But that’s where average lives.

Greatness, by default, is different. Those who are about becoming their best show up with a different attitude, different effort, different level of commitment. They aren’t about what’s easy, they are about what is better. If you are on this pursuit, you must recognize this and be okay with the discomfort that it may cause you and those around you. Some will be inspired and decide to join you, others will let their insecurity win and try to pull you back into the crowd of average to make them feel better.

In a world of average, greatness stands out.
