Keep Chopping Wood. Thursday May 18

Thursday, May 18

The most successful people have the most scars. They’ve gotten into the arena, engaged in the battle, taken some hits, fallen, and failed. And they’ve gotten back up, learned, grown, improved, adapted, and engaged in the battle again. They enter the arena because they know it’s the only way to improve. Every battle makes them stronger, more resilient, and more confident they can handle the next battle.

The opposite of this is to pursue comfort. To avoid the battle, to avoid pain, to avoid failure. It leaves you fearful of every battle, lacking confidence in your ability to take on what is in front of you. It keeps you stagnant, never growing into your potential.

If you want to get better, stop running from the battle. Get in the arena.
