What are you fighting for?

A friend recently told me a story about a Navy SEAL he knew. He had asked the SEAL how he could process the impact of being in battle and doing what his job required him to do and still be a normal, functioning human. The SEAL gave one of the best quotes I've heard.

He said that the greatest warriors in the world are not fueled by the hate of those across from them. The world's greatest warriors are driven by their love for the people next to and behind them. Hate is consuming and overwhelming; love is empowering and freeing.

It's an interesting thought for the world we live in today and the impact we can make as leaders. Are you going to be known for what you are against or what you are for? Will hate and anger drive you, or will love fuel you?

Pay attention to what’s inside of you.
