Keep Chopping Wood. Wednesday, June 28

Wednesday, June 28

Just take the next step.

A friend was recently on a hike and was struggling. The climb was steeper than he expected it to be, and rockier than he expected it to be. As he looked up at the summit, he didn’t think he had it in him. It seemed too overwhelming.

His friend noticed him struggling and said, “Just one step, just one rock at a time. Don’t worry about the summit. Just take the next step.” A few hours later, they both reached the top.

We’re all on a climb. We’re pursuing better mindset, we’re trying to be better leaders, we’re trying to build a life of influence and impact, we’re trying to get better. And there are days where it is not only difficult, it is more difficult than we expected. There are days where we don’t feel like we have it in us.

Don’t worry about the huge goal today. Don’t worry about the end result today. Don’t worry about the finish line today.

Just take the next step. Keep moving forward.
