We live in a world of insane optimization. How many steps did you get? What’s your sleep score? How are your blood levels? Did you hit your protein goals yesterday? Make sure to get sunlight within 30 minutes of waking up. An hour before bed put your phones away, sip a cup of hot tea, put on your red light mask while getting into the cold tub after finishing your sauna sweat.
Exhausted yet?
We aren’t meant to optimize every area of our life. We must make time for the messy, for the imperfect, for the unexpected.
You can live and lead intentionally without becoming a robot. You don’t need to be a slave to your systems. If optimizing is causing you stress and anxiety, then it’s not working. Whatever benefit you are getting is being negatively countered with the stress it is causing.
Stop managing your life and start living it.
Keep chopping wood. 🪵🪓
