Powerful or Powerless?

Monday, November 27

Are you powerful or powerless? How you answer that question can have a significant impact on your life.

Many people today tend to play the victim. They blame their circumstances, the people around them, and systems for their problems. However, this victim mentality is admitting that you are powerless. It means you cannot change, and you are stuck. It also means that you are waiting for someone else to make things better and easier for you, and nothing will ever change because you are constantly waiting for others to create that change.

However, it is vital to understand that growth comes from taking ownership. You have the power to change, not your circumstances or other people. If you want change to happen, you have to choose to change. It may not be easy or fast, and it may even cost you something, but change is always available.

Think about all the movies and stories written about people who grew up in the worst of circumstances, with every reason to give up. Yet, they chose to take ownership of their lives and make something out of nothing. They chose to believe they were powerful, not powerless.

If you want to improve your life, you have the power to make that happen. You can be victorious over your circumstances, not a victim of them. Take ownership and choose to be powerful.
