The price you pay

Friday, December 8

A few days ago, I spoke about the two voices that reside within us - the Critic and the Champion. These voices are in constant competition for our attention, and they have a profound impact on our actions, efforts, and outcomes.

To unleash the Champion within and silence the Critic, it's crucial to consider the long-term cost of listening to each voice. When you give in to the Critic, you make excuses, settle for mediocrity, avoid accountability, and complain. Over time, this will cost you influence, growth, health, relationships, and opportunities.

On the other hand, when you listen to the Champion, you take ownership of your attitude and actions, do the hard things, seek wise counsel, and keep your commitments. This leads to growth over time. However, it comes at the cost of comfort, convenience, time, and money.

So, the question to ask yourself is, what cost are you willing to pay? Will you sacrifice the right things today to build a better tomorrow, or will you prioritize comfort and convenience over growth and success?

A life of comfort and convenience might seem appealing in the short-term, but it comes at a great cost. It's the cost of lost opportunities, lost potential, and ultimately, a life filled with regret. On the other hand, if you're willing to make sacrifices and pay the price for growth, you can build a better future for yourself. It's a future filled with impact, influence, and fulfillment.

So, choose wisely. Sacrifice the right things today for a better future tomorrow. Listen to the Champion in order to become a Champion.
