Radical patience

Thursday, June 26
Radical patience. Radical persistence.
It will take longer than you think it will and longer than you want it to. Getting better is not like Veruca Salt in Willy Wonka, who wanted her golden goose and impatiently proclaimed, “I want one of those and I want it now!”
We don’t get patience overnight.
We don’t get resilience overnight.
We don’t get confidence overnight.
We don’t become a great leader overnight.
We don’t build great culture overnight.
If we do the work, we make progress each day. That’s the promise. Not completion today, but progress. Not perfection, but progress. Not finality, but progress.
Patience is a competitive advantage. Most get impatient and chase another goal (until it doesn’t happen fast enough, they get impatient, quit and repeat). The best stick to the process.
