You may not like the work.
You may not want to make time for the work.
You may not feel like doing the work.
You may not think you can do the work.

Because it’s easier to make an excuse. It’s easier to say you’ll do it tomorrow. It’s easier to wait until your motivated. It’s easier to wait until you feel confident.

Except it isn’t.

And at the end of the day, none of that matters.

Is the work required? Then do it.
Will the work make you better? Then do it.

There is only one option when it comes to getting better. Do what’s required.

On a side note, I’ve had a lot of you ask about what fitness plan I’m using in 2024. I think being physically healthy is one of the most critical things for us as leaders (so much so that we’re including a portion devoted to leader health in our new Coaches Performance Playbook that launches soon - subscribe here to make sure you don’t miss it). We don’t need to be body builders or marathoners (unless that’s your thing, which is awesome), but our physical health cannot be a liability for us or those we lead.

The plan I use is an app called Ladder. You take a quiz and get a coach/team assigned to you based on your preferences (where you like to work out, the type of equipment you like to use, what your health goals are, how long and often you like to work out). Then your coach puts a plan of workouts into the app every Sunday night. No more guessing what to do. Each session includes videos of the movements, built in rest, and step by step coaching. Most of the coaches also give diet advice as well. And there’s a team group chat to encourage and maintain accountability. I’m almost 100 sessions in and can’t say enough about it. You can get a free 30 days here.
