Here’s a challenge: do something that scares you today.
Something you think is ridiculous. Something you’ve been avoiding. Something that, even as you think about it right now, makes you nervous. Something that makes the fear within you get loud. It may even be something the world would call unnecessary or irresponsible - but sometimes chasing our potential looks irresponsible to people who have settled for average.
It could be speaking up in a meeting. It could be a hard conversation. It could be going to the gym. It could be quitting something. I don’t care what it is, as long as it scares you (okay, make sure it’s legal).
Because what you’ll find on the other side of it? It wasn’t that bad. Fear was lying to you. You were capable of more than you realized.
Because when you face the fear, you find freedom.

*a note for leaders in sports: in the BETTER newsletter, we’re currently working through the process we use to unlock the potential of athletes (though this same process works for anybody - it’s not about athletic potential, it’s about human potential). Next edition drops Thursday morning. Subscribe to get it here.
