Season or lifestyle

Discipline isn’t for a season.
Commitment isn’t for a season.

You may redirect what you are becoming disciplined in and committed to - certain technical skills, careers, etc - but the skill of being disciplined and committed must be something we build into our lifestyle.

Because a season of being undisciplined will undo all the work you did when you were disciplined.

Changing the way you eat for a season and then going back to your old habits only leads to lost progress and frustration. Then we complain that the diet didn’t work - no, your inconsistency didn’t work.

Discipline and commitment only work if they become part of our identity. Change what you aim them at, but don’t let them atrophy.
