Seasons and thinking

Wednesday, May 6

New seasons require new ways of thinking.

Talking with a young leader recently, I shared the advice that one of the most important skills they will need to learn is to think like a leader, not a performer. When you are a performer, you just thinking about getting your work done at a high level. When you are a leader, you are thinking about the vision, about your performance, about the performance of those you lead, and how they must all come together.

If you don’t think like a leader, you won’t act like a leader.

But this is true for all new seasons we enter. Which means we must always be challenging and upgrading our thinking systems.

The way you thought last year may not serve you well this year. Step into this season with the right mindset.
