Second wind

Thursday, August 7
We’ve all been there.
You’re locked in. Focused. Making progress. Feeling like things are going great.
Then resistance shows up. Fear starts to whisper.
“This isn’t working.”
“You’re not cut out for this.”
“Everyone else makes it look easy.”
“You know they won’t go for this. Just quit now.”
That’s the turning point. The key moment.
Most people pull back, slow down, look for the off-ramp. But you’re not hitting a wall, you’re being presented with an opportunity.
In running, this is when you find your second wind. But it happens to us in the midst of our daily pursuit of better as well.
The second wind doesn’t come after comfort.
It comes when you’re tired and battling the doubts in your mind.
This feeling of frustration? Fatigue? Doubt? Wanting to quit?
It’s not a sign to stop. It’s an invitation to go step into something better.
Because when you push through, you don’t just finish the task, you take your identity and your confidence to a new level.
You become the one who doesn’t quit.
The one who keeps going when others fold.
The one who finds the next gear when it matters most.
I’ve said before that the second you decide to live intentionally, the world conspires to work against you to keep you average. This is what those moments looks like. These are the moments that matter.
When your mind says “stop” you must respond. “No, I’ve got more in me. I’m just getting started.”
Give it one more rep, one more try at the project, one more go at the conversation, one more hour of focus.
Your second wind is waiting.
But only for those willing to earn it.
