Standards and Criticism

Monday, March 18

In a world full of average, of comfort, of settling, high standards are offensive. They make people uncomfortable. They make people get defensive.

You may be criticized for your high standards, judged for your high standards, and encouraged to lower your standards. That’s okay. People judge and criticize what they don’t understand. They will do whatever it takes to make them feel better, rather than addressing their low standards.

None of it matters. Because at the end of the day, you will get better and you will make progress because of your high standards.
