Standards provide clarity

Thursday, September 28

When you decide to get healthy, choosing what you eat gets easier. If it’s healthy, you eat it. If it’s not, you don’t.

When you decide to be financially stable, choosing what you spend your money on gets easier. Is It in the budget and wise? If so, spend it. If not, don’t.

When you decide to be positive, choosing your words and actions get easier. If they are positive, do it. If they are negative, don’t.

When you don’t have a clearly defined purpose or goal, decisions are difficult. You can justify bad decisions. Progress is inconsistent. But when you are living to a standard, it simplifies your choices.

“Does this action get me closer or further from who I’m trying to become/where I’m trying to go?”

Don’t negotiate with yourself. The standard is the standard. Commit to it.
