The wins

Thursday, March 26

What went well yesterday? Doesn’t have be something big, any win will do. What about last week?

If you ask most people - myself included - what went wrong yesterday or last week or last month, we can quickly rattle off a laundry list of moments. We love to keep a record of wrongs. Yet when you ask what went well, we typically have to pause. It requires that we be intentional. Suddenly we remember a great conversation, or good news we got, or a project we made progress on. It’s almost as if we are surprised that good things did happen.

Which is why we must pause often to think about what’s going well. Our nature is to look for the negative. And when we look for it, we find more and more of it. Yet when we remember the good, it forces us to look for the good. And when we look for the good, we’ll find that there is far more of it than we realize.

Look for your wins. Remember your wins. Celebrate your wins often. Multiply the good.
