Think better

Tuesday, February 24
Eileen Gu, a gold-medalist in these Olympic games, was asked a great question and gave an even better answer. She was asked whether she thinks before she speaks, because she is well-spoken across a variety of issues (it was a positive question).
In her answer she talked a lot about being introspective and spending a lot of time in her head. Then she got to the gold (sorry, had to): “It’s so interesting, you can control how you think. And because you can control how you think, you can control who you are.”
Sound familiar? It’s what we talk about all the time. With leaders, with athletes, with teams, with CEOs, with everyday humans. It’s so easy to hear the quote or see the video clip and think, “Sure, but she’s an Olympian.” I would argue she’s an Olympian because of this.
Who do you want to be? How would that version of you think? What will you do today to start thinking like that version of yourself? Practice doesn’t make perfect, but it does make progress.
Think better today.
