Thought reps

Monday, April 29

Practice impacts performance.

This is true in sports, in your job, in your communication, in anything. If a baseball player goes to the batting cages every day and has poor mechanics on their swing, it doesn’t matter that they are in the batting cages every day getting reps. They are getting the wrong reps. Which means when they get into the game, they won’t be able to perform as they want to. The kind of reps you get matters.

Where this is especially true is in our mindset. If you are continually thinking negatively about yourself, about others, about your circumstances, you won’t be able to take the necessary actions, make the right decisions or make the progress you want to in life. Your mind will limit your ability to perform and overcome. Practicing better thoughts is as important as practicing better habits in your craft.

We become what we repeatedly think.
