Together

Tuesday, October 8

Last week was a week off for my family, spending a few days with extended family in Colorado. We capped off the week by attending the Air Force vs Navy football game. While standing in line, I overheard a conversation between an older (senior citizen) Navy fan and a young mom and daughter who were Air Force fans.

The older gentleman was playfully teasing the little girl, suggesting they should be a Navy fan. The mom replied with, “When it comes to the skies or the seas, we lean toward the skies.”

The man laughed and said, “Well that’s okay.”

The mom continued, “But it takes all of us. We’re all one team, same mission.”

Amen. What a statement. What a reminder. In a world full of division and separation and Us vs Them, that is ultimately a losing path.

When it comes to making progress, to making an impact, to making things better, it takes all of us. Nobody gets better alone. We all have a role to play.

We’re all in this together. Stay connected, stay fighting for the highest good of those around you.
