Tomb or Turning Point

Warren Buffet famously said, “Investing in yourself is the best investment you can make.” I just launched one leadership cohort and am going to launch another. If you are a leader looking to close the gap between who you are and who you want to be, reply to this email for details.

Failure happens.
Setbacks happen.
Mistakes happen.

Some are significant, some are not. For many of us, it’s not the failure or the setback or the mistake, it’s the shame that comes with it. It’s how it makes us feel. It’s how it makes us think what others think about us (except they aren’t).

That’s the real burden of our failures. They become weights we carry. Their residue sticks to us and impacts future decisions. “You don’t want to feel like that again, so watch out.”

Our failures often become our tomb. It’s where our dreams, our courage, our hope, our confidence die.

Instead of letting your failure be your tomb, let it be your turning point. A moment in your story that didn’t bury you but formed you. Not a time that gave you chains to carry but a time that became your chance to learn, grow and strengthen.

Failure is part of life. Part of success. Part of any meaningful journey. It’s critical that we put it in its proper place and perspective.

Change how you feel about failure and watch your growth take off.
