Tomorrow you

Thursday, October 24

Imagine for a moment that it’s five years from now. October 2029. Five years from now, and you're still in the exact same place you're in today. No growth, no progress, no momentum (and I’m not talking about job title). The opportunities you could've seized are gone because you hesitated. Because you let fear win. The people you could've impacted with your leadership and knowledge are stuck, looking elsewhere for someone who can guide them. The wins you could’ve had are now a closet full of regrets. You know deep down that the gap between where you are and where you could be is because of the work you didn’t do—those habits you didn’t change, the action you didn’t take. When you’re honest with yourself, you know that you let fear win.

That version of you, five years from now, is disappointed because you had the potential to do so much more, to be more. Knowing that your future self is frustrated with the choices you're making today, could you live with that? Knowing that every day you don’t act is another day you're stealing from your future?

Because you could also imagine five years from now being full of gratitude. Proud of the effort you gave, the progress you made, the action you took. Full of confidence because of the impact you had, the obstacles you overcame, growth you accomplished. At peace knowing that even though you didn’t get every outcome you wanted, you went for it. And even in the losses, you got better.

You get to decide today if future is disappointed because you let fear win, or proud because, no matter the outcomes, you gave your best effort and pursued your purpose.

Make tomorrow you proud of the way you show up today.
