Trying or Training

Wednesday, October 18

Are you trying to get healthy or are you training to get healthy?
Are you trying to be a better leader or are you training to be a better leader?
Are you trying to have a better mindset or are you training to have a better mindset?
Are you trying to communicate better or are you training to communicate better.

People who are training have a plan. They have a system. They show up daily, do the work, and are about making progress. Think of it like a marathon runner. You don’t try to run a marathon, you train to run one.

People who are trying don’t have a plan, they have a hope. They do the work when they feel like it, have a successful day, feel good about themselves, go back to their old habits for a few days, feel bad about it, then show up the next day and try, and rinse and repeat. Then they wonder why they never make real progress.

There’s a different between trying and training. Make sure you’re showing up the right way.
