Unbreakable

What does it take to break you?

A bit of an extreme question but it matters. For some people, a colleague using the wrong tone can ruin their entire day (at times it may not even be the tone but the way you chose to interpret it). A boss critiquing their work can derail them for a week. Plans being changed can cause some to panic. Losing out on a deal can make you question your worth for a month.

And yet some experience those situations and keep right on moving. Some people get a cancer diagnosis and keep attacking life. Some experience loss, grieve and keep moving forward with purpose. Some lose a job and manage to wake up the next day optimistic about life. Some face seemingly insurmountable odds yet act unfazed by their circumstances.

The difference? Mindset. Perspective. Their view on life. Which is not only a skill we can develop but a daily choice we can make.

Which brings it back to you. And me. What are the things that derail your day, that knock you off your path, that prevent your progress? Should they, or do you give them too much power? Should you have a better response?

Work to become unbreakable.
