Uncomfortable Growth
Monday, November 6
Being uncomfortable is a signal. Too many people run from it. They blame somebody else for it. They complain about it. They avoid it. And they never grow.
I’ll be honest. A lot of my job is making people uncomfortable. It is respectfully speaking hard truths to people. Challenging not only their way of operating, but their way of thinking. It’s not always fun. People don’t always like what I have to say or the questions I ask or how they feel in the moment. Good. I’m not there to make them feel good, I’m there to help them unlock their potential. And embracing discomfort is the only way to produce better, healthier leaders.
Because being uncomfortable means we need to pay attention. It means something needs to change. It means something needs to get better. It means you are being tested. Everything good comes on the other side of your discomfort.
Today you will be challenged, you will be tested, you will be uncomfortable. What will you do with it?
