Under stress

Tuesday, July 28

You’ve probably heard the phrase that under pressure you don’t rise to the occasion, you fall to your level of training.

I think that’s true, but not in the way people think it is. Most people think of it from a physical talent/preparation perspective.

I think it’s actually from a mental perspective (the mental drives the physical). Which means when the heat is on, you default to your identity.

What do you believe about yourself? Do you believe you are a person who can handle the uncertain, the difficult, the mistakes? Or do you believe you are a person who can’t handle the moment?

When you believe better, you live better. Everything flows from identity. Make sure your identity is one that can overcome.
