Wanting different

The next edition of NO DRIFT, my newsletter for men, goes out tomorrow. Get it here.
Friday, February 13
Comfort is our natural state, our natural pursuit. It’s what we want most.
What this leads to is being the same as those around us. Look around at those in your life - work, community, etc. You probably do the same things they do, in the same way they do.
We do what we can to fit in and be comfortable, which means we do what others do. Pursuing comfort leads to sameness.
Which also means we mostly get the results others get.
If you want something better than what you and others have, then something must change. Get outside the norm, go against the grain, create your own path. This doesn’t mean to quit your job, move to a new city, overhaul your entire life overnight. But it does mean something must change.
If you want something different, do something different.
