Watering thoughts

Friday, March 21
“Focusing on a negative thought is watering a seed that will only turn into a weed.”
I heard this recently, and it hit me hard. We know negative thoughts don’t serve us. We know giving them more attention than they deserve only holds us back. We know that what we focus on, grows.
But this visual took it even further for me: Negative thoughts don’t just grow - they grow into weeds. And only weeds. Every time we dwell on them, we’re watering them, nurturing them, giving them what exactly what they need to take over. And the only thing they’ll produce is more negativity. They don’t have the capacity to grow into anything good.
If our daily habits shape our future, then our focus habits shape the future of our mindset.
Focus on negativity, and you guarantee a future filled with doubt, anxiety, worry, and excuses.
Focus on what’s good, and you create a future of peace, confidence, action, and ownership.
Today, choose your focus. Choose what you’ll grow. Choose to plant what you actually want in your mind. Starve the negative. Water the positive.
