You saw the promotion they got. Did you see the work they put in to get it?
You saw the sale they closed. Do you know how many months and meetings it took to close it?
You saw the trophy they raised. Did you see how much they sacrificed to get it?

​We see the outcomes but we rarely see the cost.

Which means we want what they have, but we don’t know what it took to get it.

We don’t see the discipline needed.
We don’t see the hard conversations had.
We don’t see the doubts that were overcome.
We don’t see the good things they had to say “no” to along the way.

You don’t get the authority without the responsibility. You don’t get the platform without the pressure. You don’t get the win without the work.

Stop looking at them. Look at what your goals require. Then get to work.
