Wins

Monday, January 26
If you’re in part of the country that got hit by the winter storm, I hope all is well your way. We got maybe 5” of snow (supposed to get 12”+) and no ice, so it’s been a fun couple of days with the family.
You had a win last week. Might have been a big win. Might have been a small win. But something you did last week moved you even an inch closer to a better version of you.
What was that win? Do you remember it? Or - like most people - did you dismiss it, focus on your struggles and want went wrong, and then move on?
This is how our goals become burdens and we eventually give up. We forget the wins. We feel like we’re always behind. And then we wonder if it’s even worth it. Why are we doing this if we’re not making any progress? And then we give up.
But wins, even the smallest of wins, are fuel. They are a reminder that it’s worth it, that it is working, that we can do it.
But wins don’t work if we don’t remember them. So take a few minutes and reflect on the last week. Write down your wins. Celebrate yourself. And remember to do this on a regular basis.
